Dr. Joye Purser Receives Cybersecurity Lifetime Achievement Award Atlanta— August 28, 2023 — Dr. Joye Purser has been awarded the Harold F. Tipton Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest tribute in cybersecurity by ISC2 – the world’s leading nonprofit member organization for cybersecurity professionals. “I am deeply honored to receive this award by ISC2,” said Dr. Purser. “My career has always focused on promoting technology for the betterment of society. To be recognized for years of focus in technology and security leadership is truly a joy.” Named after Harold F. Tipton, CISSP, known as the “George Washington of Information Security,” the award recognizes Dr. Purser for her lifelong contributions to the advancement of information security by serving, over the long term, with sustained excellence and distinction throughout her entire career. Joye Purser, CISSP, PhD, currently is the Global Lead for Field Cybersecurity at Veritas Technologies, the world’s number-one maker of data backup and recovery systems. Previously, she was a senior cybersecurity public official at DHS/CISA, serving as the inaugural senior executive for U.S. Region 4, successfully integrating physical security and cybersecurity field staff operations. Dr. Purser’s cybersecurity impact extends through various roles, including an IT program audit leader for the Secretary of Defense, program examiner for the Department of Defense's $93 billion research budget, and management consultant for enterprise risk management. An advocate for Cyversity, YearUp and WiCyS, she demonstrates an unwavering commitment to the cybersecurity community, securing a corporate donation for Cyversity's apprenticeship program and showcasing her capacity for impactful change. “For me, this work is personal,” said Dr. Purser. “People.
